Sports massage is a therapeutic form of massage designed to alleviate discomfort caused by issues such as muscle tension, soreness, muscle overuse, stress, and anxiety. This technique employs a combination of methods, including effleurage and petrissage, to enhance blood circulation, release muscle tension by targeting specific muscles and soft tissues, and promote flexibility.
While primarily recognized for its benefits to athletes, sports massage is equally effective for anyone experiencing discomfort from everyday stresses, recovering from past injuries, or simply seeking a moment to unwind with a relaxing massage. In today’s tech-driven world, the frequent use of mobile phones and laptops contributes to increasing instances of back and neck pain caused by poor posture.
Katie, a qualified VTCT Level 4 Sports Massage Therapist, tailors her approach to each client’s needs, offering either a relaxation massage or a deep tissue massage. The pressure applied during each session is customized to the client's preference, ensuring comfort and satisfaction, whether they desire light touch or deeper pressure.
In 2024, Katie collaborated with the Hollington United Football Team, providing pre, during, and post-match massage services. Additionally, during the Hastings Half Marathon in March 2024, she offered pre and post run sports massage to competitive runners, helping to prepare their muscles before the race and assisting in their recovery afterward.
To enhance muscle and soft tissue relief, Katie incorporates the EMMETT Technique in her sessions, which facilitates rapid muscle relaxation and tension release, yielding optimal results when combined with massage techniques.
Katie provides a dedicated sports massage, a relaxation massage, or a combo treatment featuring both EMMETT and massage therapies. This unique option includes a 30-minute session where clients can benefit from comprehensive muscle and soft tissue release therapy.
Using grapeseed oil as her massage medium, Katie ensures to accommodate any allergies clients may have, so please inform her of any concerns.
